Words of Wisdom

Last week I had a conversation with Sparky about creationism and how some in the US want it taught in science classrooms alongside evolution. I was telling him how some - specifically young-Earth creationists - believe (among other things) that dinosaurs co-existed with humans and that the T. Rex was a vegetarian when he interrupted me:

"That is so stupid!"

Thank goodness he has a brain and loves science along with football.

You are right to heave a sigh of relief when Sparky shows he has thoughts of his own, even when they are voice in short sentences.

It's great that you and he talk about stuff like this. Too many parents never sit down and actually talk to their kids. And on top of that, he seems to have inherited the brain genes. Goodonya!

It is stupid - that's the most concise statement I've heard about the debate over whether to teach mythology in a science classroom. It's one of the reasons I'm happy to be down here, to tell you the truth.

That IS stupid! Hardly any species co-exists with humans. Sheesh.
